For me, Life is like a game of cards. The hand you are dealt is determinism, the way you play it however, is free will.

My name is Kathalijn Kalawati Vergeer, I’m 30 years old and made out of playing my profession. Where I use playful interventions to inspire, connect and activate people through their transition. I’m doing what I love, fits my personality and brings value to the world. Life has dealt me some cards that were a gamechanger but brought me where I am now. I have a background as an anthropologist and gamechanger. But also as a journalist, teacher intercultural communication and worked for divers social entreprises and thinktanks. I currently work as an organizational developer. I travelled a lot, like to hike in the mountains, playing boardgames and currently live in Utrecht with my love.

Playful in Transition

Where I use playful interventions to inspire, connect and activate people through their transition. This could be a personal one, but also an organizational or societal one. By using experiment, interaction and experience I help to expand people’s playground. Their physic, social and mental playground.

Life is like a game of cards, but the free will how to play them is not as free as I thought. I have found out that you have to use both your nurture and your nature to fulfil your destiny. What helps me, is to recognise the chances life offers, and take them too of course. And the more a chance scares me, the more enriching it is for my life. Meaningful moments I call them. And it makes not only my world bigger, but also the world of other people. In this workshop, I will show you a different perspective on change, transition and transformation. A playfull one.
