Quest for Reality
Quest for Reality is a cinematic role-playing game based on research conducted among people inhabiting virtual worlds. The goal of this exploration video-game is to find a way back to Reality from within the depths of virtual world where you are lost. Quest for Reality is a hybrid video-game which merges documentary style with fiction, striving to produce cinematic feel. The beginning of the game positions the player in a similar solitary state that the people face before escaping the real-world. From a first person perspective, the participant is moving through various interactive environments which simulates the different stages of the addiction, from the common ones into witnessing the extreme cases. The entire narrative is based on interviews with real-world computer addicts, who are represented in the game as guides. The intention of this project is to explore alternative ways of storytelling through character embodiment.
